It began in 2007 with $1 million in leadership funding from CIBC. At the program\u2019s outset, Canada Company was also able to secure funding from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>The late<\/em> Peter Munk, Founder and Chairman of Barrick Gold Corporation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>James Balsillie, Former Co-Chief Executive Officer of Research In Motion (RIM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R B &amp; H Inc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paul Desmarais, President and Co-CEO of Power Corporation of Canada<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>W. Garfield Weston Foundation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bank of Montreal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scotiabank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AGF Management Limited<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2016, Canada Company received an additional $500,000 from the Canada Company Board of Directors, Toronto-Dominion Bank, Scotiabank, Royal Bank of Canada, and the Bank of Montreal to expand the program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-cc-745-f-44-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-3\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:700;letter-spacing:2.4px;text-transform:uppercase\">Application Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To find out if you qualify for our scholarship program, please read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadacompany.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Canada-Company-Scholarship-Terms-of-Reference108459140.12-Feb-22.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Terms of Reference document<\/a>. Following submission, a member of the Canada Company Children of the Fallen Scholarship Program will review the information and contact all applicants to discuss the next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also submit for consideration by email or mail, but you\u2019ll need to authorize the Canadian Armed forces to confirm your eligibility with us.
