HCol Blake C. Goldring, Founder and Chairman
HCol Blake C. Goldring, M.S.M., LL.D., CFA is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors of AGF Management Limited, one of Canada’s premier investment management companies with operations across Canada and subsidiaries in Europe and Asia. Mr. Goldring is Founder and Chairman of Canada Company and a member of The Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee. In 2011, Mr. Goldring was named the first-ever Hon Col of the Canadian Army.
Bruce D. Bowser
Bruce D. Bowser is President and C.E.O. of AMJ Campbell Van Lines, and previously held various management positions with the Bank of Nova Scotia from 1985 through 1992. In addition to being a member of the Executive Committee of Canada Company, he has served on several Boards, including the National Club, Atlas Canada, The National Ballet School of Canada, Hope Air, The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation, Mississauga Board of Trade, Georgetown Hospital Foundation Board, and is Past President of the Teen Ranch Foundation, Halifax/Dartmouth YMCA.
William Braithwaite is a Senior Partner in the Toronto office of the national law firm Stikeman Elliott LLP and a member of the firm’s Partnership Board and Executive Committee. Mr. Braithwaite practices primarily in Mergers and Acquisitions (M & A) and has represented a wide range of corporations, boards of directors, and institutional shareholders. He has also represented governments and regulatory authorities on policy and other initiatives. Mr. Braithwaite is a member of the Committee and Secretary of The Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee.
HCol David Gough
HCol David Gough serves as President of Export Nova Scotia Inc., assisting Canadian businesses facilitate their international trade initiatives while representing foreign interests in Canada to develop enduring and winning business relationships. In addition to being the Chair, Atlantic Chapter of Canada Company, he currently holds the positions of Chair, Atlantic Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada, and a National Director and Secretary to the National Board, and serves on several private sector boards.
As an active supporter of the Canadian Forces he was appointed Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the 723 (Halifax) Signal Squadron in 2011, and subsequently assumed the role of Honorary Colonel in 2013 of the 36 Signal Regiment. David is a member of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council’s Nova Scotia Advisory Council, a founding Director of the Halifax Military Heritage Preservation Society, and a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Stephen Gregory is the founder of IsaiX a firm that specializes in organizational development and technology. Over 30 years, Steve has built up a client list of 160 leading firms in the financial services and pharmaceutical sectors in North America. Steve is a winner of the TEC National Speakers Award in 2009, TEC is an assembly of over 1,000 CEO’s. Steve has worked with a number of private banks, investing and wealth working with senior executives as well as front line teams. Steve founded Operation Husky 2013, to pay tribute to those who fought and died in Sicily in 1943. Over the years, he and his team have raised over $2.5 million in donations for the families of troops, and for his volunteer work and service Steve was appointed Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the 2nd Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Steve sits on the board of Canada Company, a charitable, non-partisan organization that builds bridges between business and community leaders and the Canadian Military as well as Acerus Pharma.
HCol Don Hewson
HCol Don Hewson is President and CEO of Brothers Creek Trading Ltd., a West Vancouver based log trading company specializing in the finance and marketing of logs for domestic and export markets. Don has more than 30 years experience in the forest products industry, particularly in the British Columbia coastal market.
An avid outdoorsman who loves fishing and hunting, Don is also a military history and aviation enthusiast who holds a private pilot’s license. He is a longtime rugby player who has represented Canada’s “Over 33s” team on four different international tours. A member of Canada Company since April 2008, Don is passionate about raising awareness and support for military families.
HCol Paul Hindo
HCol Paul Hindo has spent the last 30 years in the Commercial Real Estate sector and is now with Nautical Lands Group. Paul has had extensive involvement in various public and community organziations such as Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, SCO Health Service Foundation and is currently serving as the Ontario Provincial Chair for the Canadian Forces Liaison Council.
HCol Tim Hogarth
HCol Tim Hogarth is the President & CEO of Pioneer Energy LP and its associated group of companies. Pioneer is the largest private independent petroleum marketer in Canada with annual revenues of $2 billion and over 300 retail locations across Ontario and Manitoba. Pioneer is recognized as a Platinum member of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies program. Mr. Hogarth also serves as the Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel of The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry regiment. He is a former Vice Chair Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation and YPO Toronto Chapter Chair and serves on the board of the MerryGoRound Children’s Foundation as well as various other charities and boards.
François J Joyet is President & founder of Maguire Bakeries, an independent manufacturer of bakery products for a healthier lifestyle based out of Quebec, Canada with sales throughout North America. He is also owner and founder of Bagel Maguire Café, an artisanal bakery café that has been in continuous operation since 1988.
Garfield Mitchell is a private investor, corporate director, and Chairman of Smoothwater Capital Corporation. He also serves on the boards of a number of charities and foundations. Mr Mitchell chairs Canada Company’s Governance and Nominating Committee, and The Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee.
Lindsay is currently a portfolio manager for a resource based small cap fund and a private equity fund, Pino Grande. She sits on the board of governors of Rothesay Netherwood School in Rothesay, New Brunswick, and she is a director of East Kootenay Land Corporation, and Clearview Resources. She is also one of the principal owners and a director of a number of privately held family businesses.
Lindsay has 8 years of capital markets experience. She worked as an institutional equity trader for Tristone Capital, a boutique investment bank specializing in energy and energy service companies. She worked in institutional sales for one of Canada's largest Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) companies, Horizons ETF’s, expanding their business in North America and providing coverage to Canadian institutional accounts seeking a variety of ETF solutions including risk mitigation, sector allocation and indexing.
Lindsay has earned a Bachelor of Science degree (Psychology) from the University of Dalhousie (2004), and Masters of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management (2010). She has completed her certificate with the Institute of Corporate Directors (IOD), and is completing her certificate with the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.C). She has completed the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct Practice Handbook course, Trader Training course, and Investment Advisor training course.
