BIOGRAPHIES
Blake C. Goldring, M.S.M., CFA, LLD is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and a
member of the Board of Directors of AGF Management Limited, one of Canada’s premier
investment management companies with operations across Canada and subsidiaries in Europe
and Asia. Mr. Goldring is Founder and Chairman of Canada Company and a member of The
Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee.
Tom Bitove is the Executive Chair of AMJ Campbell Inc. and PowerBev Inc. and serves on the Boards of the Canadian Hockey Foundation and the Wayne Gretzky Foundation. As President of Bitove Corporation, he oversaw the fine-dine and catering operations of SkyDome [now Rogers Centre], all foodservices at Lester B. Pearson International Airport, as well as Travel Centers located along the 400 and 401 series highways and other catering operations. Bruce D. Bowser is President and Chief Executive Officer, AMJ Campbell Inc. He has overseen the growth of AMJ Campbell since his appointment as President in 1997 from $34 million to over $100 million today. He has led the successful acquisition of six moving companies, as well as the launch of several new product lines, such as AMJ Self Storage and AMJ Shredding. AMJ Campbell currently operates eight Business Divisions in 50 locations across Canada, with over 2800 employees. William Braithwaite is a Senior Partner in the Toronto office of the national law firm Stikeman Elliott LLP and a member of the firm’s Partnership Board and Executive Committee. Mr. Braithwaite practices primarily in Mergers and Acquisitions (M & A) and has represented a wide range of corporations, boards of directors, and institutional shareholders. He has also represented governments and regulatory authorities on policy and other initiatives. Mr. Braithwaite is a member of the Committee and Secretary of The Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee. Alex Jurshevski is the Founder of Recovery Partners and has more than 20 years of experience in investment management, M & A and advisory work. Recovery Partners offers Principal Investment and Risk Advisory Services in the area of distressed assets and turnaround management. During his career, Alex has been involved in over US$40 billion of financial restructurings and over US$20 billion of primary transactions. Major General (Ret’d) Reginald W. Lewis, CM, CMM, CD is the former Honorary Colonel of The Royal Regiment of Canada and a decorated military officer. In civilian life, he has been the President of the Parking Authority of Toronto and also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto Economic Development Corporation. He has held the office of Chairman of Defence Construction Canada Ltd and is currently Director, Parc Downsview Inc. He has served as a judge of the Citizenship Court. Reg Lewis held the appointment of Special Advisor to the Minister of National Defence (1997-2002) and also served on the Minister’s Monitoring Committee. In 1986, he received the Order of Canada and was made a Commander of the Order of Military. MGen Lewis is a member of the Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee. Garfield Mitchell is a private investor and corporate director, currently serving on the boards of Viking Gold Exploration Inc, Barwest Enterprises Limited, and Killarney Capital Corporation, among others, as well as a number of charities and foundations. Mr. Mitchell is a member of the Committee and Chairman of The Canada Company Scholarship Fund Oversight Committee. John Wright is Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the North American Public Opinion Polling Division for Ipsos, the third largest market and opinion research firm in the world with annual billings of $1.4 billion. In addition to his client work in public affairs research, Mr. Wright has been the lead media spokesperson for the company since 1990 on politics, policy and consumer trends. He also hosts a weekly radio show for Canada’s largest News Talk station, Toronto’s CFRB, called Your Opinion Counts, and is a regular Co-Host on the Business News Network (BNN) TV’s Squeeze Play. He is also Co-Author of the best seller “What Canadians Think…About Almost Everything” (Random House, 28,000 copies sold). Zane Piekenbrock is the Managing Director of Canada Company. Mr. Piekenbrock is also a senior officer with the Primary Reserves of the Canadian Forces and has spent the past five years working fulltime with the military, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Mr Piekenbrock is also one of the directors of Action Influence Inc. Before joining the military, Mr. Piekenbrock held positions in account management of the interactive division at the internationally recognized advertising firm, Ogilvy & Mather. He has also been employed in corporate communications and public relations and is a graduate of Queen's University in Kingston and University College in London, England. |
