Canada Company has two alternatives available to children of military parents killed while serving on an active mission with the Canadian Forces. In 2007 Canada Company established the Scholarship Fund in recognition of the selfless sacrifice that Canada’s brave military personnel make in the service of their country. Their children are now eligible to receive comprehensive financial assistance for their post-secondary education. Project Hero was founded in 2009 by Retired General Rick Hillier and Honorary Lt. Colonel Kevin Reed. Project Hero is a program which provides undergraduate scholarships to children of fallen soldiers through association with some of Canada's finest colleges and universities. These institutions are offering tuition and in some cases, support with room and board in the first year, to children of Canadian Forces personnel who have lost their lives while serving in an active mission. |
